As we all sat in the café talking, it became evident that Angela was aware of the God-shaped hole in her heart. She shared that she does not have any beliefs, but she would like to. The door was wide open for me to suggest that we meet later to talk about what I believe, but I almost missed the opportunity – it’s a good thing Enrique nudged me!
It all comes down to love. With it, we show that we have a living relationship with Him. Without it, it’s as if we don’t know Him at all simply because that’s what He is. Love.
So I feel like this time of apparent failure is just an opportunity for me to not only trust in His faithfulness to me, but to bring myself to a new position of humility & submission before Him; redeclaring my dependence on Him. To give Him my heart of service without the conditions of what I define as success attached to it.
In my little circle of 5, God showed up powerfully. As I began to
share God’s story, students peppered me with questions trying to
understand more about how to have a relationship with God. As I
shared more about Jesus, one girl exclaimed, “This is incredible!”
While Cherie, Cher and I each had a part in sharing our hearts with them, I felt like the Holy Spirit was stirring in their hearts in a way that no one, or nothing else could.
I think it’s funny that often times we think we are waiting on Him to reveal more of His love to
us when it is really Him just waiting on us to crave a bigger intimacy with Him.
He had been thinking very deeply about one question in particular, which was, “If I believe in God, but do bad things, does He stop loving me?” We stood at our locked bikes for over 15 minutes talking…
“Do you ever have that kind of moment when you realize the harvest is so great, but the laborers are few? That’s how I feel here at my new job.” Already she’s started sharing her beliefs with co-workers…
