Breaking The Outer Man

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 by Jimmy

This Christmas could not have been any better! God did so many things inside of our friends this past couple of weeks. My best friend Garmy came into the family two Sunday’s ago! And it is so cool to watch the journey that God already has for him. He has only been in the family [...]

Asian Shepherd

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 by Cozy

“I found the baby!” the shepherd cried as he reached into the makeshift manger, picked up the sock baby we had made, and waved it in the air.

“Give the baby back!” I called through the uproarious laughter in the room, “It’s Mary’s baby!”

The True Meaning

Thursday, December 24th, 2009 by Buckeye

One of the guys decided that he would be the shepherd and that’s where everything started. When it was time for his part, he was supposed to go to Bethlehem and find the Son in the manger. Well, he went over to the area that was the stable and proceeded to take the baby out of the manger. Then he said, “I found the baby — now what do I do?” as he was walking away. My team and I could not help but crack up laughing over this.

In Times of Weakness

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 by Sydney

I could hear voices just outside my bedroom door – snippets of great conversations my team members were having with Asian friends. However hard I tried to get out of bed and rejoin them, my body wouldn’t let me. I lay there, feeling helpless and useless. I had used all the strength in me to share the gospel with our friends at our first Christmas party. Immediately after, my back gave out, and I had to retreat to my room, unable to function. As I lay there, I started to cry, frustrated. Through my tears I began to pray, and through my prayers, God spoke to me.

Why He Came

Sunday, December 20th, 2009 by Skittles

It was cookie decorating time! We had had a slight crisis about an hour before the party started, when we realized we didn’t have any butter to make icing. I’m so thankful that God gave us the internet. After some searching we found a recipe that seemed good and decided to use it. The evening [...]

“My Phone Got Baptized…”

Sunday, December 20th, 2009 by Ginger

My teammates, Razzle and Orchid, and I sat perched with our friend May on our futon. May, our first Chinese friend to receive Jesus into her heart this year, had made the decision to be baptized, and tonight was the night!

Little Paper Snowflakes

Friday, December 18th, 2009 by Wesley and Buttercup

The best part of the evening was the natural transition these decorations gave me to talk about the real meaning of Christmas. It seems incredible at times, but most of our friends have no idea that this season is about Jesus coming to save people, and it was a special privilege for me to get to share about the love that our Father has for us that compelled Him send His Son to earth.

The Joy of Giving

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 by Pinky

As I walked I happen to notice the man who will daily sit on the sidewalk and paint Chinese Characters for a living. As I passed by, I saw his sunken expression, and noticed that there
was only 1 Yuan in his money box…

The Fever That Revealed True Friends

I tossed and turned in my bed feeling really miserable. It was just such an awful feeling to be sick AGAIN!! I was down with a fever last Saturday.

Christmas Decorating

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009 by Rocky

I wanted to buy some Christmas lights and some house decorations and instead of going to some big store, like I would back home, I was walking down the road of a gigantic market. The best I can describe this market as is like a flee market but…
