Thursday, October 28th, 2010 by Enoch

Well, DRUM ROLL please!!! God got one!! Another one into the family last week. A friend decided he wanted to become a Christian.
GOD was really just doing his thing during a Bible study when a friend said I want this! “I want God to help me so I can also help
others!”

Package!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010 by Dublin

Later in the day, Enoch and I were sitting on the couch and there was a knock on our door. We (Yes, I know it doesn’t take two guys to answer the door) go to the door and find a postal worker with a package. I see the package has my name on it. This guy starts yelling at us in a foreign language. We were desperately trying to get a hold of any of our friends who could translate on the phone. After three tries, no answers we gave up.

Wobbling at the rainy bus stop, I slipped and lost my balance. Powerless to stop myself, I came within inches of falling in front of a fast approaching bus!

Destiny

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 by Fay

While we were there, we had a ‘foreign fellowship’, a sort of church service for us missionaries. I was asked to lead worship for the meeting. As I didn’t have a guitar, I led with just my voice. Can I just say, that was terrifying, lol. I’m glad I was so tired, I didn’t have the energy to get super nervous, though I was still pretty scared. But I did it. And the Lord was there, and it went just fine.

The condition of His Heart

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 by Simba

“My heart won’t be silent.  I don’t really love anyone, nor do I like anyone.  I am greedy.  I am very proud.  I don’t know what to do.  The only thing that comes to mind is to read the Bible.”      These are words recently spoken by a college student.  Not only that, he called late at night after [...]

“my heart won’t be quiet”

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 by Clive

There’s someone who needs your prayrs right now. Her name is Rita and she is a student from our university who is very popular, gifted, and full of passion and life, yet tonight she called me and said “my heart won’t be quiet.”  She was definitely feeling convicted and hurting, and because we have been [...]

Lessons in Humility

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 by Xena

As we climbed back down the mountain the woman was trying to brush the dirt off my leg. Then as it began to rain, she handed me her umbrella and insisted I take it. I was so humbled by her. I had thought how she had so little, and I thought how I have so much andyet she wanted to take care of me. It’s something I will never forget.

Seeing the Sites

Sunday, October 17th, 2010 by McDoogle

In HB you have to get out and see the sites before the temperature dips.  That is exactly what my team and I did a few weeks ago during our 10-day vacation from school.  Unlike most visitors to HB, we didn’t go to the walking street, St. Sophia’s Cathedral, or even the Amusement Park.  Instead [...]

Surrender

Friday, October 15th, 2010 by Amilah

Surrender: 纳款 (verb) To give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield (Many thanks to dictionary.com!) In the book of Matthew, Jesus is speaking to His disciples and says “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matt 16:24).  In light [...]
