Reflections on Christmas

Friday, December 31st, 2010 by Rocky

Christmas is a time of year to remember what God did for us by sending his Son, but it is also a busy time of year, a time of buying gifts, making food, having parties, singing songs, and for me going to class. I was sitting in my class explaining to my teacher (who is [...]

Drummer Boy

Thursday, December 30th, 2010 by Xena

Like the little drummer boy, I don’t have to worry about having more to give. God is using the things I already know, and He is teaching me new things along the way. He beckons each of us to draw near to Him, and He delights in us for everything we already are. We don’t have to be anyone we aren’t, or improve ourselves to gain His affections. He couldn’t love us anymore than he already does.

Party Time!!!

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010 by Fay

It’s not the food, or the sight-seeing, or the travel. It’s the opportunity, and the privilege, to be able to tell my friends about Jesus in a loving friendship. Something my friend Qq told me once was that I would always have a family here in Asia. I know thats true. And it is so good to experience!

But That’s Impossible!

Monday, December 27th, 2010 by Joy

Imagine a stadium filled with 3,000 Asian people praising God. “Impossible!” you say. A few months ago, I would have agreed that it was highly improbable — it just doesn’t sound like the Asia I know. However, two days ago, the “impossible” happened. I stood on a stage facing thousands of Asian believers freely praising God!

“I think I can start to believe in Jesus. I now understand that He loves me and all people very much.”

My friend Holly shared this with me during our Christmas party on Saturday. I was so surprised and happy to hear her say this!

This January will mark 1 year since I have answered the Call! Yeah, Oh I want to tell you all what has happened here! So much, I have learned so much already. I spoke in their language and didn’t know it, I saw 2 of Asia’s future leaders baptized, I’ve got to meet great people of God! I love it and I love it and I love it!

The first person to respond was a girl who didn’t conceal her love for Jesus.

Glory to God in the Highest!

I have to tell you about last night! We had a Christmus party here at our apartment with the 5 of us and about 10 Asian friends. We made lots of Naan bread pizzas, which they absolutely loved, cookies, popcorn, played games, sang songs, and read the Good News of our Saviour’s birth – amazing how [...]
