Looking for Answers

My language teacher walked into our classroom yesterday, and without saying anything, we all knew something was wrong.  He struggled through the first two periods of class, trying his best to stay focused on teaching the class.  When the second period was just about over, he stopped everything he was doing and sat down.  He [...]

When God Breathes

Saturday, May 21st, 2011 by Clive

Happy Spring, everyone!     I have to share about something really special and beautiful that the Lord is doing in our midst recently. Here’s a glimpse:    The four middle-aged gentlemen stopped to have a look at the scene transpiring under a gazebo-like structure in the middle of a small park area on our university, [...]

Visa Friend Update

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 by Simba

With a happy, childlike grin of contentment on his face, my friend Peter thanked me for praying for him.  From what I understand, there had been some kind of offense between him and a friend.  Peter recently forgave this friend, and they were able to spend time together.       Also, Peter’s relationship with God has [...]

The Last Update

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 by Fay

I will always be so grateful to God for this experience in Asia. Through the hard times, the harder times, and the good times, God never left me, and always loved me. He met my friends, He drew them to Himself, and He is continuing to do so, even as I leave. He moved mountains, opened doors, brought down strongholds. He lifted my eyes off my circumstances, and onto Himself.

Transitioning

In all honesty at times it has been challenging as I experienced a time of refining. I have endured different trials, times of confusion, doubt, anger and frustration. But I have also experienced times of great excitement, joy, and awe of how God has moved on behalf of my friends. I can truly say that these times outweigh the bad. Seeing God move this year has made me so excited for what He has in store for the future.

Pressing On

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 by Amilah

Today, we said goodbye to one of our teammates.  Later this week, we will be saying goodbye to another.  In fact, later this week, almost all of our CT workers here in Asia will be flying back home to take part in debriefing.  Those who are committed long-term will be taking part in the [...]

How Did It Get So Late So Soon?

Sunday, May 15th, 2011 by Joy

Dr. Seuss once wrote, “How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before its afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness, how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” I can’t help but empathize with Dr. Seuss. As the year draws to a close, it’s hard to believe it’s already over! It feels as though we’ve only just arrived and have so much work to do. Alas, we’re wrapping things up and preparing to return home.

What Are the Odds?

The first girl we met on campus in August was named Linda. When we made dinner plans for later in the week, she asked if she could bring her friend Sylvia. That was the beginning of a fantastic friendship with Sylvia that has lasted the whole year.

The night started with Yuan opening in prayer. Even in him thanking the Lord for food, it was deep! AHha He said “ I thank you for showing us your Love and us being in your love forever. Amen! During dinner, Kyle told his testimony. I held back my tears. I really did try. It was guys night you know, but then I told my Testimony. I starting balling and weeping. Then they all just grabbed my hands until I was done. It was really powerful.

The Story of a Princess

“God’s love is deeper than any love I have ever known. He desires to have an amazing relationship with each of us, but like the young woman, He gives us the choice to be with Him or to continue to live life on our own. Whatever you choose, He couldn‘t love you more than He already does.”
