Wow
I never thought this moment would come!
Right now I’m sitting in my favorite coffee shop in our city! In less than 15 hours I’ll be waking up to move my heavy bags to the airport, and start the 24 hour journey back home!!! It still doesn’t feel quite real yet! I almost didn’t think this moment would come! haha This past week we have been packing, meeting with friends, and even leading shrt term teams around the city here! It’s been beyond busy!
Me and the three others on my team had a “last supper” with one of our best friends here. Her name is Teresa. We actually met Teresa while she was working here at our favorite coffee shop!!! She has been facing many difficulties with her family while we’ve been here this year. We were laughing and joking a lot during our last dinner with her, but the end became very intense.
We noticed that she had all of a sudden became very quite. When we looked at her, she started to cry! These were her words, “before I met you guys, my life was very unhappy. I am unhappy because I cannot trust anyone! But now you are my best friends and I will never forget you!”…………………………………wow! No eye was dry at that moment. Teresa is a friend that we’ve had many great conversations about God with! He definitely has His hand on her life, and her heart has definitely been softened to Him. As we leave to come back home, there are many friends like Teresa that we wish we could have just a little more time with. But we are trusting God to finish the work that He started in their lives.
This has been an unforgettable 9 months and there will be many stories to tell when we get home! Aside from the 24 hour plane ride coming up, I’m really excited for what’s coming up in the next week! However, it’s true that part of my heart will still be here in Asia. Please keep us in your prayers as we’re traveling home tomorrow morning. Look forward to seeing you soon!
