Our team Christmas party was even larger than its Thanksgiving predecessor. We rented a karaoke party room near the universities with which we’ve been working, and it fit our sixty or more guests comfortably.
As planned, we prepared some Christmas carols for them, including “Silent Night” and “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing.”

Jacob is a Traditional Asian Medicine student, in his fourth year of a seven-year acupuncture program. When I told him I had been feeling a little under the weather lately, he said that he could fix me up very easily if I wanted to go back to his dorm. I was a little hesitant, but it seemed like a good way to connect with him about things he’s interested in, and I’m always up for a new experience.

After the concert ended, we grabbed a place to sit down outside with Coco and his friend and talked. He asked us about our childhoods in America, and told us a little about his. He also said he was looking forward to our next Bible Study.
