A Walk to Remember

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 by Columbo

Since I have only been in the country for a couple of weeks, I seem to forget how busy it gets as soon as the sun sets. Usually double the amount of people come outside to eat, exercise, and spend time with friends. I thought that this would be a very challenging time to pray, but Sheldon and I did it anyway. And I’m glad we decided to continue because this moment with Jesus was a time I would never forget.

I’m Here!

This market was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was a total culture shock. I look to my right and I see animal meat and whole ducks hanging on hooks in the middle of the morning sun. I look to my left and I see people selling fruit, plants, and things I’ve never seen before in wagons. And the smell of the market wasn’t too “normal” either. As I look at a woman selling clothes and toenail clippers, I almost get hit by motorbike, and shortly after I see a live chicken eating scraps off the ground. After experiencing all the chaos at ten o’clock in the morning, I stop and say to myself “I’m finally Here”.
