Since I have only been in the country for a couple of weeks, I seem to forget how busy it gets as soon as the sun sets. Usually double the amount of people come outside to eat, exercise, and spend time with friends. I thought that this would be a very challenging time to pray, but Sheldon and I did it anyway. And I’m glad we decided to continue because this moment with Jesus was a time I would never forget.

There is nothing better than having an awesome time with family. After watching a movie and eating a great dinner, Sheldon and I decided to go on a mini adventure. After a complicated taxi ride home, we decided to go on a prayer walk around the neighborhood. What could be better than to spend a somewhat peaceful evening talking with God?

Since I have only been in the country for a couple of weeks, I seem to forget how busy it gets as soon as the sun sets. Usually double the amount of people come outside to eat, exercise, and spend time with friends. I thought that this would be a very challenging time to pray, but Sheldon and I did it anyway. And I’m glad we decided to continue because this moment with Jesus was a time I would never forget.

Walking and praying with hundreds of people conversing around you is such a great feeling. Sometimes it can get a little awkward because of all the craziness that’s going on around you but overall the spiritual experience was amazing. As time went by, I remember feeling the presence of God getting stronger and our prayers becoming more powerful. While Sheldon and I were walking with the authority and power of God, our hearts were pouring out with genuine love for the people in our area. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. Being in this busy environment and experiencing God is something I could of never dreamed of!

Because of the time we spent in prayer, I know that God is going to awaken the people in this area and hearts are going to change. Father is going to do amazing things in this country. Continue to pray that hearts will be changed and minds will be renewed. Pray for me. I will definitely be praying for all of you as well.

This market was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was a total culture shock. I look to my right and I see animal meat and whole ducks hanging on hooks in the middle of the morning sun. I look to my left and I see people selling fruit, plants, and things I’ve never seen before in wagons. And the smell of the market wasn’t too “normal” either. As I look at a woman selling clothes and toenail clippers, I almost get hit by motorbike, and shortly after I see a live chicken eating scraps off the ground. After experiencing all the chaos at ten o’clock in the morning, I stop and say to myself “I’m finally Here”.

Being in this country is still very hard to believe. But I must say that being here is absolutely awesome! Sheldon and I are having such a great time experiencing the culture and the great food. Our first week here has been a bit challenging but it has also been a lot of fun. Some parts of the culture are similar to what we’re used to, but a lot of parts are definitely shocking.

For example, during my first day in this country, Acorn decides to take us on a little trip around the neighborhood. Honestly I was very excited to see what this side of the world was like, so I thought that no matter where he brought us it would be nothing too unfamiliar. I was wrong! About two minutes from where I live, there is a food market that basically changed the way looked at this country in the past.

Continue to pray for me and the work that God is going to do here in this country.
