Just over two years ago, with less than 48 hours notice, “our country” closed its borders to foreigners in a response to Covid. Despite our best efforts, those on our teams who were out of the country at that time have still been unable to return; tourist, student, and dependent visas have not been available to our teams to get back to the country many of us call “home” or to the people we feel called to reach. As a result of the over two year closure, after much prayer, we have made the decision for Campus Target to go dormant at the end of July.
By “going dormant” we do not necessarily mean that things are being permanently disbanded, but rather that the organizational structure and resources are being kept ready within Target Ministries in case God wants CT to operate again when the borders reopen. Going dormant also does not mean that CT will certainly restart if the country reopens; we will respond to the situation and God’s leadership when that moment comes.
We invite you to celebrate with us the incredible things the Lord has done through Campus Target the past 16 years.
You have been such a significant part of Campus Target’s story; we can’t imagine celebrating without you. Would you make the trip to Lima and join us for some special events?
Alumni Gathering (9:30-noon @ Elim Life Church): We will be taking a look back together, remembering the Lord’s faithfulness and thanking Him for the ways He has changed us and Asia. Childcare provided.
Alumni Picnic (12:30pm @ Mark Tubbs Memorial Park): Just like we did at friends and family picnics at the end of training camp before launching into Asia for the first time, we want to gather together to connect as friends and CT family. Lunch is provided. Kids should bring their swimsuits so they can enjoy some water activities.
Celebration Service (6:30-8:30pm @ Elim Life Church): With our supporters and the broader CT community, we will be celebrating together 16 years of ministry and commissioning out those who are launching into new fields. Childcare provided up to age 8.
