“I feel like God is telling me I need to do something bigger than myself. This could be it.”
Chrissie, a 21-year old senior, shared her thoughts with me last week as she approached me at our booth. As she continued, she said a lot of the same things I did before I started working for Campus Target. God was truly doing something in her heart. I have talked to enough young adults about missions to be able to recognize a sincere heart for the lost.
Last week, a teammate and I left at 4:30 am to drive a little over 2 hours to a small Bible school in NY, for their missions conference. The day was filled with a few breakout sessions, times to connect with students at our booth and over lunch, and an awesome Spirit-filled chapel led by the chair of the Intercultural Ministries department.
During one of the sessions, my teammate got to share some powerful stories about what God is doing in Asia. The room was filled with about 25 students, two of which are from Asia. The whole time the students were very engaged.
After the sessions, a handful of students surrounded us wanting to ask questions. Later that afternoon we were at our booth and met many of the students who had been in the session my teammate led. A handful of them were seriously interested in laying down their life for a semester to go to Asia and win lost souls for Christ. That’s when we met Chrissie.
Chrissie is one of several young adults that are serious about joining our team this coming August. God is doing something special at each place we speak. We already have 12 applications for next year’s team with a handful of others expected to be turned in soon. This is higher than the numbers from the last few years.
Thank you for your prayers! Keep praying for more laborers to join our team in August!
