I am really excited about these next few months. We have been planning, praying and I really feel like the fruit that is going to come out of the rest of our time here is going to be something that we are going to look back at and realize how much God was doing.
One of the things that gets me so excited is seeing our friends grow around us. So let me tell you a little about our friend Roy. He is a first year student who is definitely a little more well off then most college students. It is easy to tell when he is the only friend I have that actually has a car. He is studying English and is planning to go to school down under next year. About a month after we got here he came into the family. He was into the whole party scene but he realized there was something more. Since he came to know the big man his life has completely turned around. God helped him stop smoking and totally changed his world. Now 5 months later he is going after God so much.
One of the great things about Roy is that he is just the kind of guy we want to reach because he is an influencer. He is the president of his class and all of his fellow students look up to him, which includes his closest friends. Roy is not the kind of person to keep things to himself. He has been sharing the good news with all of his friends. Which brings us to his friend Kevin. We have known Kevin and Roy about the same time and Kevin has heard the good news a bunch of times but God wasn't real to him. Not until he had a 2 dreams that God told him he was going to pass his very important language test.
We found this story out last week when my roommate, Roy and I were sitting in a coffeehouse in the middle of leading Kevin to meet the Man. I am so excited to see what else God is going to do through these 2. They told us a story of when Kevin and another one of there friends, Rosen (who is not in the family yet), were fighting over who's turn it was to read the book. Plus the fact that every week more of Kevin and Roy's friends have been coming to the part make we so excited to see what else God is going to do through all of our friends in the coming months. So keep in prayer that God would continue to grow our friends and use them.
