It’s hard to believe that just a little over a week ago it was snowing here in the X, but after this last burst of winter fury, the cold winds of February are giving way to the warm days of March. The sun is peeking through the clouds (of pollution haha), the birds are singing, and the flowers are blooming.
Spring is always a time for new beginnings. New flowers, new trees, new plans, and new promises. Here in the X, our team is taking a new, fresh look at an old goal. As many of you know, we have felt a call across all of CT to pray like we have never prayed before, and while many of us have taken steps in that, we feel like God is calling us to more! So starting a few weeks ago, we as a city committed to praying at least four times a week in small groups on the campuses that we are reaching out to. Some of us are getting up in the morning hours to be at campus by 7:30 am, and others of us are sowing seeds in the afternoon before connecting with friends. No matter what time of day, God is meeting us there and already beginning to answer our prayers. In just a few short weeks we have seen:
* People join the family!
* People running into friends they haven’t been able to connect with in a long time.
* Training groups getting re-launched
* And so much more!
However, probably the most exciting thing happened outside of the X. Two of our short-term workers traveled to another part of the country to help an Asian brother by teaching English at a local school. This helped the Asian brother to have a reason for being in the area, which is heavily populated by the T-an people, a largely unreached group. While they were all there, 8 T-an women give their lives to God!!! This is soooooo AMAZING!!! This could be the start of something HUGE in this area!
When we pray, He hears us, and He wants to move in powerful ways!
