There are certain people that you know can only be reached if God works a miracle in their hearts. My friend Micaela is one of those people.
When I first came to K-Town I never thought that I would come face to face with the religion of Islam. When you think about the Islamic world, Asia is not usually a country that one thinks about. However, Asia does have a large Muslim community.
The day I first met Micaela I knew there was something special about her. She was unlike any other Asian girl I had ever met. She is smart, confident, funny, and just so much different than any of her friends. I desperately want her to know the truth about God and how He has changed my life and how He certainly can, and wants to change hers. However, there is one large problem. Micaela is Muslim and very deeply rooted in her culture and beliefs.
For months I have been talking to God and asking Him to give me an opportunity to share with Micaela the truth about Him. I have also been reading many books about Islam and ways to reach Muslim people with the Gospel. Then one night, a few weeks ago after an English Corner, I was walking home with her and she began to ask many questions about what I believe and my views on God. It was totally amazing and unexpected! During our walk I was able to share the whole Gospel and so much more, and then a few days later I gave her some books that will force her to take a close, hard look and her faith to determine for herself what is truth and what is not.
I am so excited for the work the Lord is doing in her! It is totally a miracle, there is no other way to describe it. I ask that you diligently pray about Micaela, that her eyes would be opened to the truth and that every time we meet together would bring her one step closer to knowing Him.
