The wind whipped through my hair as Aidan and I sat in the back of
a motor taxi. It is a kind of motorcycle taxi but with three wheels
so there is an actual seat on the back. Well, its basically a lawn
mower with a little extra power to it.  It had not been the best
week for me in Asia. I had been very homesick, realized that I
bought the wrong phone card, got lost…..twice, nothing was going
right this week. However, as the world flew by I realized that even
though things go wrong, I am right where I am supposed to be.  The
bad weeks are opportunities to learn and to grow. So I am thankful
for the bad days, if it means that there will be days that I can
sit in the back of a lawnmower and know that God’s grace is more
than sufficient for the bad days.

Sonata and I were able to meet with a lot of new friends this week.
It has been exciting to see how the relationships with our new
friends is growing. We are having a Thanksgiving party next week
for our Asian friends, so please pray that everything goes well and
that we get everything together in time!

This week has been freezing! Well, technically not freezing but it
is in the 40’s and 50’s. Since there is no heating, it seems to get
even colder in our apartment. I have been sleeping in sweat pants,
a sweat shirt and  three blankets. I can’t wait until it warms up
again!

Prayer Requests:
1. This is my first major holiday away from home, and I am feeling
very homesick.
2. There are still several members of the team that are sick.
3. Our first church meeting this week!

Many of you sent me some verses in your e-mails, and I wanted to
let you know that it was extremely encouraging to have the word
spoken into certain situations. Thank you so much for all of your
kind and encouraging words.

Well, I hope that you are all doing well.  Please stay safe this
holiday weekend and have a wonderful time with your family.
Love and Blessings,
~ Summer
