Just when it seemed liked it would never be below 100 degrees again, the sweltering heat of an X summer finally gave way to the slightly less oppressive heat of an X late summer and brought with it the promises of Fall, and some new team members as well!
In late August we welcomed 11 new short-term workers who will be here with us for the next 9 months. This year’s group is amazing, funny, hard-working, and most of all they love God and have a desire to make His name known here.
After a few weeks of getting them settled in and trained, we set them loose on the campuses. In the 6 weeks or so since they have been here, we have seen over a dozen new students join the family!!! Some of these students are from a campus that I will call XZ. This is the first year that we have had a team on that campus, and despite it being a technology school dominated by guys, many girls have made decisions for God there already! After a couple weeks of not seeing anyone make a decision, our other crew on the campus of XB saw 3-4 people join the family in one week! This is only the beginning, and I am so excited to see what is in store in the coming weeks and months.
Just before our new people arrived, we also had another long-term worker join our team. Sonny and Cher gave birth to their 4th child here in the X in August and we are really excited that he is on our team too hahaha!
In addition to welcoming new people and relaunching for the year, we have also continued to focus our efforts in praying like we have never prayed before and we are seeing God do some great things! People are joining the family, groups are getting started, and lives are being changed!
