A couple weeks ago, the guys were on the basketball courts with their Asian friend Patrick, a believer who joined the family two months ago or so. Before starting a game, they would normally warm up by shooting jumps shots or jogging around the court. This time, however, they arrived with a passion to do more than play a competitive game of basketball. So instead of the normal warm-up, the 3 of them prayed for God’s direction in choosing someone to share the good news with. Their goal was to help model for Patrick on how to share personal testimonies and the gospel. After playing, they jumped right into the game. Two hours later, the three of them and a new friend, John, sat down together for dinner. The conversation quickly transitioned from trivial subjects to that of the Lord. Both the guys were able to share their testimonies, and then Patrick jumped right in and shared his in his language. Following this, he continued on and shared the entire gospel! What?!? And guess what? Patrick encouraged John to take the step of faith as he has done nearly two months ago and begin a relationship with God. Patrick led John through the prayer and John was added to the Kingdom!!!!!
Last week, a college student named Dora decided to go all in for the Lord! The first thing we teach new believers is to obey the Lord. What’s knowledge if you aren’t obeying? (James 1:21) One of the first verses we share is Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” As she was taught this powerful scripture, she chose to obey! She shared the good news with her mom, and her mom was added to the family. Earlier this week, both mother and daughter were baptized!
I could share story after story with you about the miracle of salvation that we are experiencing here in this city! It’s transformation! It’s the Holy Spirit exploding in this place! Praise Him for all that we have seen! As we jump into the Christmas season, we have absolute assurance that God is already preparing the hearts of so many more! Please join us in prayer as we continue to share His love this Christmas season! Pray specifically for the parties we will have, that God will open up doors for us to share the gospel like we never have before! And please continue to pray that we would find more “good soil” people like Patrick and Dora who are willing to change this nation for His glory! Let’s make His name famous!!!
